Wateree Community Action

Wateree Community Actions, Inc.

WAP

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides home weatherization assistance to improve the quality of life for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities and children by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. The Weatherization Assistance Program for each of the state's 46 counties is coordinated through ten community action agencies.

Through the use of diagnostic testing, approved initiatives include but are not limited to the replacement/repair of windows and doors, air sealing, caulking and/or installing insulation and compact fluorescent lamps. Once such measures are put in place the amount of household energy use reduces and resultant energy cost savings are significant, with an average savings in excess of 20%.

The WCAI Weatherization team serves individuals/families in Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee, Sumter, Florence, and Marion counties.

Customers must be served in the counties they reside.
